Women’s Champions League Group Stage Draw: Barcelona to Face Manchester City
Defending champions Barcelona are set to take on Manchester City in the Women’s Champions League group stage, following the draw held in Nyon on Friday.
The Spanish giants, who have won the competition three times in the past four years, will also face St. Pölten from Austria and Sweden’s Hammarby in Group D.
The group stage matches are scheduled to begin on October 8th and conclude by December 18th.
Meanwhile, Lyon, the eight-time champions and last season’s runners-up, have been drawn into a competitive group alongside Wolfsburg, AS Roma, and newcomers Galatasaray.
In Group B, Chelsea, the WSL champions, will take on Real Madrid, FC Twente, and Celtic. Former winners Arsenal will face Bayern Munich, Juventus, and Valerenga in Group C.
The final will take place at the Estadio José Alvalade in Lisbon next year.
